I was just having a conversation with my sister about a piece of jewelry that I had recently listed in my online boutique. I asked her to read the description, and then I asked her, “Is that okay?” Many of these bracelets are intention bracelets, so I tell little stories about them and what each particular bracelet is supposed to do, according to my world. In other words, the intention that I made them for. I thought that maybe I was being silly or childlike about it, and she said, “No, women want their jewelry to DO something!” This struck me as funny and I cracked up. I guess these days we can all use a little extra support in our lives, something to reach out and hold onto. She then made the point that jewelry started out that way, and she’s right. Amulets and talismans, secret found treasures… humans have always put them on leather cord or strung them up in some such fashion and sported them around. Women love jewelry that let them feel empowered. And beautiful. And sexy. Each woman can tap into her inner goddess and call that goddess forward, and sometimes we just need a little help summoning her back up again. But when she comes back, look out. I made this piece during a storm. I live near the beach in a tiny coastal community and the storms here can be powerful and amazing. At least I think so, anyway. It inspired this piece, Ocean Goddess.
Ocean Goddess Empowerment Bracelet
This goddess empowerment intention bracelet was created during a storm at the beach, so it is imbued with the power and fierceness of the sea. After the storm died down the sea was calm and knowing, so it is filled with goddess power and wise ocean tranquility too, the perfect balance. Agate, inlaid turquoise and brass.
